They made story for Brasil Canoe Slalom reaching 4th place in the Junior Worlds K1 Team Event.
From Adam's official web site:
Saturday was the first day on senior selection and the final day of junior selection. I won the j18 c1's with a quick second run after hearing on the commentary that someone had beaten my first run time. I was excited by the added pressure and found myself really enjoying the whole start line experience. I made a mistake taking a risky line on the first move, losing a second and then another second also on the top half. But the rest of the run went to plan and I was paddling well. The final standings were Me 1st, Ryan Westley 2nd, and George Tatchell 3rd. This is also the 2010 British C1 J18 team in that order. With back to back C1 runs in the morning I then had my C2 to compete in with Greg Pitt. The C2 race was easily the most exciting part of the day with a lot of crews pushing towards the top 3 places. It's exciting to be part of the class that now has so much depth. We finished 5th seniors, 2nd under 23s. This we were very happy with as we only train once a week in C2. There should be time to fit in more C2 sessions when I finish school. That could make next years selection very interesting.

The slalom season has taken off, still the weather in Europe is not helping... Check some testing of our new K1 in France.
From today you can find a new website for our slalom line.
The look is not the only thing that changed. With this new website we are also introducing:
1. A new line of kayaks and canoes, that reflect our first year of feedback and the improvements made, that have without a doubt raised our game.
2. A new tool to design and draw your boat, allowing the customer to choose and preview his own design.
3. The calendar of races where Nelo will be present and where the athletes will be able to try our new line.
We hope you take the time to check and give us your feedback on how we can keep improving.
Our chairs are very popular!
After watching some high level competitions in Slalom in the past few months, we should conclude that the mistake margin in this sport is extremely reduced.
Like in any sport, there is drama, but in Slalom the waiting game for the your opponents mistake, the high "price" of the penalties make it an addictive and thrilling sport to watch.
As boat builders we are looking forward to be more in this game, to use our expertise to give the athletes the calm and confidence enough to perform at this level of stress.
The crowd was amazing but we cannot get used to the horns!! Slovenia did well,i am sure that the extremely loud crowd gave them a hand!
The Portuguese crowd was also present cheering for one of the youngest competitors in this event Lara Silva (in the picture).
We have a great view to the scenic course, internet access so our office is GREAT!!!
In the meantime we saw one of the boats we lended the ICF for the Development Program, Argentina was using it, it is great to see our boats down the course, not many for now! But the impact is up to the expectations!
2 days left for the competition to begin, but the atmosphere is already great!
La Seu was the Olympic Venue for the 92 Olympics and since then it has marked for their constant investment in technology, this year a new timing and camera system will be presented.
During these days each team has assigned a traning hour, in which the athletes try diferent parts of the course or techniques, as the final course won't be know until the race day.
We have got our selfs installed in a great location with an even better view.
Next week, the Nelo Tour will head to La Seu d'Urgell for its first ever Slalom Worlds.
The plan is easy, we are on a fast learning process, we have been absorbing information from different places, athletes and coaches, the Worlds will be one more oportunity to reinforce that knowledge and contacts.
This World Championship will have another "first timer" besides us, it will be the C1 Women Event, as we like to be part of all ambitious and original plans we are supporting the Portuguese athlete with a brand new custom made boat, that is from today on its way to La Seu!
We will be there ourselves from monday, and we will keep you posted on our adventure!
This week in Nottingham gave us more information than many weeks of standard research.
We were able to talk with some of the best athletes in the World, coaches and even other boat builders. The most impressive thing was how friendly we were welcomed, we felt that there is room for us in this market, and we will take the oportunity.
now is time to go home and do some homework, and go back later in the seaoson with some improvements made.
In the meantime we assured our first top athlete TIM BRABANTS assured that if he ever paddled slalom he would do it in a NELO!!!
Season has taken off, the athletes were going down the course all day,so we were digesting the whole experience and even managed to catch some feedback from the most curious that were already trying our boats today.
The Nelo team here consists of myself ( André), Chico ( the Wookie) and Ivan Lawler (as 6 times World Champion). Today we have been centered in understanding the diferent shapes and on how they affect the behaviour of the boats, even tough we don't have the insigh view, the combination of our pragmatic view and the feedback we hope to receive from the best in the World, will surely bring us awesome results.
Today was the last day of training, great oportunity to see what is going on . Weather was not nice at all in the morning but in the afternoon it got better and we could follow the demo runs without freezing.... And yes there was a Nelo boat during the demo run, Fiona Pennie Olympian in 2008 for Great Britain, has been trying our boat for some time now and used it during the opening run.
We were also able to catch up with the Portuguese Team, fans of our kayaks and a young and promising team. ( in the picture Ivan Silva)
Tonight we took a break of Salom and had dinner with Olympic Flatwater Champion Tim Brabants, good food, great company and soccer!! Great combination.
Europeans in Slalom will be our first official appearance in a Slalom race, the only word we can think of is "CHALLENGE"
For the moment we are only as well known as our name is written with 2 L's, surely our perserverance and knowledge will make us more familiar in this spectacular sport
